Kamden D. Kanaly has dedicated his professional career to providing wealthy families with objective investment and financial advice. KDK PWM represents a commitment to carrying on the values that his family passed on to him: client-centric thinking, innovative advances, and a deep respect for personal service and transparency.
In 1975, his grandfather founded Kanaly Trust Company in Houston, TX. Shortly thereafter his father and uncles joined the company. The family business grew over its 40-year run into a multi-billion dollar AUM wealth management firm. Following in their footsteps, Kamden spent five years with Kanaly Trust in his role as Vice President – Relationship Manager and served as a member of Kanaly’s Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Kanaly in 2012, he held analyst and client advisor roles at Amegy Bank and Morgan Stanley. After the merger between Kanaly Holdings (Trust) and Mercer Advisors in 2016, and then Kanaly Trust’s subsequent sale to National Advisors Trust Company in 2017, he spent one year with Mercer Advisors in a similar role.
Kamden, his wife Kim, and their two young children live in Houston.
Chris shares our Firm’s deep commitment to putting client needs first with thoughtful and innovative approaches. Raised in Texas, he has spent his career based in Houston. He joined us from Mercer Advisors, where he led business development across Texas. He joined Mercer through its 2016 acquisition of Kanaly Trust, where he served as Vice President, Business Development for 5 years. Prior to Kanaly Trust, Chris served as a private client advisor at Bernstein Global Wealth Management. He began his wealth management career in 1999 at CIBC Oppenheimer.
Chris’s clients are largely high-net-worth families, with relationships that span personal capital as well as trusts, estates, family partnerships, foundations, and endowments. He specializes in delivering sophisticated, comprehensive wealth management solutions.
Chris graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Economics and holds the FINRA Series 65 License. He serves on the board of West University Little League and of HeartGift Houston. He also serves on the Investment Committee of the University of St. Thomas. Chris and his wife, Kathleen, are raising their three sons in Houston, TX.
Christie earned a Masters of Investment Management and Financial Analysis from Creighton University and received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Houston-Downtown, graduating cum laude. She is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society, a national scholastic honor society in the field of business administration.
Before joining our team, Christie spent eight years working at Kanaly Trust as a Senior Investment Specialist and Portfolio Analyst. After the sale of Kanaly Trust to Mercer Advisors, Christie stayed at Mercer Advisors as a portfolio analyst and worked closely with other team members to implement Mercer Advisor’s overall investment strategy. She performed manager due diligence, utilizing Morningstar Direct and Bloomberg, as well as met with managers Kanaly partnered with, for performance and allocation review. She maintained investment models and tracked and reported on performance and quantitative statistics of investment models.
Marcella is passionate about using data, analytical tools and processes to help improve decision-making. Born in Wisconsin, she has spent most of her career in California, Georgia, and Texas. She began her career as an engineer, building missiles and developing software for the radar equipment on fighter jets. In 2009, she turned her analytical skills toward financial services and pursued her Certified Financial Planner designation. Since then, Marcella has worked as an advisor, a financial planner, and a tax planner. She also spent time performing Compliance audits of state-licensed RIA firms on behalf of the Georgia Secretary of State. She joined us from Mercer Advisors/Kanaly Trust, where her role as a Financial Planner led her to assume an internal process improvement role at the firm’s Denver headquarters. Prior to Mercer Advisors, Marcella worked in Financial and Tax Planning for Creative Financial Group, USAA Financial Planning Services, and Thrivent Financial.
Marcella uses state-of-the-industry planning tools and approaches to help clients set a course for their future. She helps them explore what-if scenarios on their investment plans, evaluate retirement strategies, quantify the impacts of various business succession strategies, and assess insurance, education, estate planning and cash flow requirements.
Marcella received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University. She received a certificate in Financial Planning from Emory University in 2009 and has been certified as a Certified Financial Planner ® by the CFP Board. She has also been certified as a Chartered Financial Consultant® by The American College of Financial Services and as an Enrolled Agent by the IRS, which grants her the same unlimited tax practice rights as an accountant or attorney.
Emily was born and raised in Murray, Kentucky. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations and a minor in Marketing.
She launched her professional career in the financial services industry in 2010, and has worked with advisors and clients across back-office operations, account administration and client relationship management. She spent four years with Northwestern Mutual before joining Kanaly Trust Company in 2014 as a Client Service Associate. Her role at KDK PWM currently focuses on managing client relationships, servicing accounts, and facilitating the onboarding of new clients and accumulation of new assets.
Emily and her husband Mike moved to the Houston area in 2013 and now reside in Montgomery, TX with their two children.
